The pandemic and economic conditions have had a unique effect on each and every industry. Changes to the grocery industry have major impacts on consumers’ daily lives. KEY STAT: While regional chains are still the most common place where US consumers do most of their grocery shopping, this has decreased by 12pp since 2015. Meanwhile, over the same period, the percentage of US adults shopping at membership club retailers (i.e., Sam’s Club, Costco) has doubled.
