John Dick

CEO and Founder

John is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in new business formation, business development, and marketing. He is the host of the successful podcast, The Dumbest Guy in the Room and author of What We’re Seeing, the weekly email newsletter read by a who’s-who of business leaders, policymakers, and celebrities. He is also a frequent speaker at the Carnegie Mellon University Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship, a contributing writer for AdAge, Microsoft News, and Forbes and has appeared on Good Morning America, Yahoo! Finance, Cheddar, and AXS-TV. John is the lead singer of Moscow Mule, an alternative rock cover band, a recipient of the distinguished Jefferson Award for his charitable works.

Gretchen Tibbits

President and Chief Operating Officer

Gretchen Tibbits is CivicScience's President and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to her operational responsibilities, she leads the company’s commercial-facing teams, focusing on Data-Driven Advertising, Media Partnerships, Consumer Data and insights, and Audience Activation and Measurement. Prior to her move into investment banking, Gretchen had a 25+ year career in the media industry, including being the president and COO of LittleThings. She held leadership roles at a diverse group of companies, including StyleCaster, Hearst, ESPN, WorkingWomanNetwork, and Inc. She has been named to the Folio 100 and is a Digital Hall of Fame honoree.  Gretchen’s banking success includes representing Trusted Media Brands on its merger with Jukin Media; Outside (formerly Pocket Outdoor Media) on ten acquisitions, including its acquisitions of Outside Magazine & Outside TV and Pinkbike, CyclingTips, Trailforks; and Wild Sky Media on its sale to Bright Mountain Media. Gretchen earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Scholar and a Lawn Resident, and for which she serves on a number of boards, most notably Chairing the Arts Endowment and the Capital Campaign for the Center for the Arts. She earned her MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, where she was a Stern Scholar. She is on the board of the Tectonic Theatre Project, a proud resident of Harlem, a theater lover, a wine collector, and an avid traveler.

Doug Lauretano

CEO, Advertising

Doug is the CEO of CivicScience Advertising, a company founded to leverage the scaled, responsibly sourced, highly actionable dataset of CivicScience in advertising. Powering next-gen audience solutions in a rapidly evolving, privacy-first open internet, the new company provides value to users, brand marketers and content creators in a permissioned and regulatory compliant fashion without dependence on third party cookies. Prior to starting this new venture, Doug launched the programmatic business of Media.net and built it to a top ad platform as SVP & GM. He has spent over twenty years in media spanning various leadership, strategy and partnership roles for platform technology and branded content-driven enterprises at various stages from start-up to corporate. Doug has earned an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and lives in Laurel Hollow, NY with his wife and two children.

Will Oberman

Chief Technology Officer

Lifelong tech entrepreneur, husband, and father of two based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Will is a broad and deep technology expert, able to organize and execute cost-effective strategies and staffing at different stages of growth. He specializes in creating and maturing technical architecture as well as mentoring the technologists working to achieve their vision.

Amie Bolewitz

Chief People Officer

Amie is a dynamic and solutions-driven operations executive with over 15 years of experience leading strategic initiatives across organizations. Currently serving as Chief People Officer at CivicScience, she oversees all facets of people operations, human resources, and organizational effectiveness—driving initiatives that align culture, talent, and business strategy. With a career that began in international marketing, Amie brings a unique, cross-functional perspective to operational leadership. Her background in strategic marketing and program execution allows her to approach HR and operations with creativity, analytical rigor, and a deep understanding of cross-functional collaboration.

Prior to CivicScience, Amie served as Director of Marketing Operations at Black Box, a global technology solutions provider, where she led high-impact initiatives across digital strategy, team development, and process improvement. Her work laid the groundwork for long-term growth and operational excellence. Amie holds multiple HR certifications and is passionate about building people-first, scalable operations. She specializes in operational change management, workforce planning, and leadership development—helping organizations navigate complexity, empower their teams, and drive meaningful transformation.

Rachel Clayton

Chief Platform Officer

Rachel is a curious and tenacious leader. A self-described "data nerd," she began her career in media research working with publishers and broadcasters to better understand and monetize their audiences. Most recently, Rachel led data strategy for the National Ad Platforms of Cox Media Group. After many years as a media partner and fan of CivicScience, Rachel joined the team in 2021. She leads CivicScience's team of research experts, who daily undercover insights that help clients make crucial business decisions, as well as the Media Partner and Engagement teams creatively bringing value to publishers and our poll respondents. A Pittsburgh native, Rachel now lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children where she enjoys the trails and the climate as an avid runner and triathlete.
