As the latest installment of CivicScience’s brand comparison series, which analyzes key differences among brands by leveraging the unexpected insights in the InsightStore, CivicScience examines Chick-fil-A and Popeyes customers.
The chicken sandwich wars brought about a clash of QSR titans that saw consumers rank Chick-fil-A, and to a lesser extent, Popeyes as leaders for chicken sandwiches. The debate seems to have cooled quite a bit from years past, especially as Popeyes, in particular, has shifted focus toward wings.
While Americans have voiced where they stand on chicken sandwiches, how popular are these major chicken-focused rivals overall? The latest CivicScience data show 59% of U.S. adults report in as a customer of Chick-fil-A, compared to 40% who say they are Popeyes customers (among those aware of the brands).
