CivicScience’s ongoing COVID Comfort Index, which measures Americans’ comfort doing daily activities amid the coronavirus pandemic, nudged upward last week — but barely. The increase of 0.4 represented the smallest improvement since the index’s current six-week rally began in early January. Comfort with working, eating out, and shopping all stayed pat, while comfort with going to movies and public events improved modestly.

Time – and CivicScience – will tell if this is merely a blip amid a broader emergence from COVID fears, or if some Americans are simply still not ready to start going out in public as normal. Check out our weekly COVID Check-In infographic for more details.

Drop by again on Wednesday, March 2 for the next check-in.
