Have you eaten a potato today? The vegetable that’s served in a variety of forms is a staple in American diets and contributes billions of dollars to the country’s economy each year. 

CivicScience data show a staggering 96% of U.S. adults report they enjoy eating potatoes in some shape or form. When it comes to preferred types of potato, french fries, mashed potatoes, and baked potatoes are top choices among U.S. adults. Preferences differ by age however, with the biggest difference coming in potato salad – only 25% of Gen Z enjoy it compared to 60% of Baby Boomers.
