News of the Omicron variant beginning to surface in the United States has been ramping up. Overall concern about being in public spaces has begun to slightly increase over the last few weeks.

Right now, CivicScience data continues to show that nearly 70% of US adults feel at least somewhat concerned about the COVID-19 Omicron variant, leaving a third who are not at all concerned. 

Even though the Christmas holiday is less than a few weeks away, ​​an increasing percentage of U.S. adults are reporting that they don’t plan to travel in the next month. 

Further research shows that among those who usually travel for the holidays, the Omicron variant may impede on travel plans for those who express concern.
