Soon after President Biden announced his anticipated student loan debt relief plan last week, CivicScience data show more American adults strongly oppose President Biden’s student loan debt relief plan than those who strongly support it.
Unsurprisingly, those with student loans are much more likely to support the president’s plan, while those who already paid off their loans are more inclined to strongly oppose it.
About half (52%) of those with student loan debt say Biden’s student debt relief plan will impact their lives.
Among respondents with student loan debt, those in the lower income bracket are the most likely to be unsure about how this newly unveiled plan will impact their life, perhaps showing more need for information and support in becoming qualified for such relief among those who may benefit the most.
CivicScience will continue to keep a finger on the pulse of student loan repayment and forgiveness.
