Welcome to another installment of CivicScience’s tracking insights into the most important and current trends in America today, as seen through the lens of different brands each week. CivicScience regularly tracks thousands of brands through the InsightStore™, which gathers over 4 million U.S. survey responses daily. This week, we studied more than 44,000 Sephora customers to preview our capabilities.

Take our Poll: Do you prefer shopping for cosmetic products at Sephora or Ulta?

Here are 3 Things to Know about Sephora Customers this week:

#1: The Sephora Savings Event could generate significant interest among consumers who don’t typically shop at Sephora. A CivicScience poll launched yesterday shows that 70% of Sephora customers have either shopped the sale or are at least ‘somewhat likely’ to, with a significant percentage of non-customers also reporting they’ve shopped the sale or are likely to (59%).
#2: Nearly 7-in-10 Sephora shoppers plan to purchase gift cards for holiday gifts this year, compared to roughly 4-in-10 consumers who don’t shop at Sephora.
#3: Sephora customers are more optimistic than average about their income outlook. Fifty-three percent of shoppers anticipate their income to be at least ‘somewhat higher’ in the next six months.

What do you think? Celebrity-owned makeup brands: are they ever worth the hype?
