CivicScience’s COVID Comfort Index rebounded modestly after reaching a four-month low in the first full week of January. However, overall public comfort levels with daily activities remain relatively low.
It’s possible that recent promising headlines about the state of the Omicron variant wave of COVID-19 are making Americans less wary of things like traveling and attending large public events. Comfort with both of those activities rebounded week over week. In fact, the only indicator of the index to decrease was comfort with working — possibly a minor correction after last week’s massive surge in workplace comfort levels.
