Immediately following Donald Trump’s announcement that he would be endorsing Mitt Romney for the Republican Presidential Nomination, we deployed a question across our platform to gauge US voters’ reactions. In 12 hours we reached over 6,500 US respondents, properly distributed by age and gender. We can cross-tab these results by Party ID, likelihood to vote, and hundreds of other topics, but for now, let’s look at the unfiltered results.

It would appear that Trump’s endorsement did little to change voter opinions. Of self-identified GOP voters (meaning those who said they ARE supporting a GOP candidate) 86% said the endorsement made no difference to them. Of the remaining voters, respondents were 3 times more likely to move AWAY from Romney after the endorsement than toward him. Makes you wonder whether whether all the big news was really worth it.
