Whether it’s due to the rise of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus, the recent colder weather, or a combination of factors, Americans are becoming less comfortable with day-to-day activities.

CivicScience’s ongoing COVID Comfort Index fell one point week over week to 58%, marking a five-point slide since early November’s high point of 63%. Comfort with all of the index’s component activities declined, except one: comfort with traveling, which has hovered at or near the 50% mark for four weeks now. The COVID Check-In will be taking a hiatus next week. Drop by again on Wednesday, January 5 for the next check-in.
