We were surprised, frankly, given that some 90% of our office is in more than one NCAA bracket pool, to see how few people actually participate in the annual tournament ritual. Naturally, dudes are more involved than the ladies, but not by as much as you might think.
Based on a sample of 2,971 respondents, it looks like 21% of men and 8% of women participate in a pool. The big difference is among people who play in more than one, where men are over 5 times more likely than women.
But seriously. Only 14% of people out there are in NCAA tournament pools? What are the rest of you doing? Working or something.
